influ

Aye! SO I had ALOT of People ask me how to get a voxbox since I’ve been posting alot of product reviews from my Recent #modavoxbox by Influenster. I decided to Just write a blog about it, and go into as much detail as I can. SO, I really hope this helps. If It doesnt Im sorry, Just contact me personally, and I will guide you through it. Anyways First you want to become a Member Of Influenster.com. Its FREE to Join!Remember, “The best things in life are free”.  The Only Catch is you would need to do product reviews, and post on social media sites, make a blog (sometimes). SO if this is something you are not comfortable with, . . . this isnt for you and you can just exit this blog and move on to something else. Due to the fact, you are required to write product reviews, post them on your walls of your social media sites, share with friends, and take atleast one mandotary survey!

So lets begin, After you sign up be sure to completely and I mean COMPLETELY fill out your profile! Add a profile pic, fill out your Bio, complete your “snaps” so you can unlock your badges. Snaps are basically Surveys that let influenster know what you like && what you are about, so they can match you to the perfect voxbox! Before any voxbox, they survey you to make sure that you recieve the right products. Example:  IF you have senstive skin, its good to take a survey on your skin type so Influenster sends you the lotion for YOUR specific skin type. Or maybe you might be allergic to something its good to let influenster know, and they are aware of what they will be sending you. SO make sure you fill out ALL the snaps till there is none left. They usually keep adding snaps weekly. This also shows how active you are with influenster. If you want to get a Voxbox THE BEST way to get one is being active.STAY ACTIVE.

Stay active. Always visit influenster.com atleast 3-4 times a week. I always visit Daily to see if there are any new snaps to complete, so you can unlock more badges. Especially If I have a Voxbox in progress Im in there every day like Its Facebook. haha. When you finish your snaps, and completeing your profile you will then need to Link ALL your social media sites to Influenster. This will determine your “Influenster Impact Score”.

A Influenster Impact Score is a Rank or a Score that Influenster uses to show where you stand within the influenster community. This score shows how much you can potientally impact the people around you. Not only does influenster base your score off your social media friends (the # of friends you have on each social site) but they also base your score off how helpful you are in the community such as your reviews, questions and answering others. The more friends and followers you have the higher your impact score is…. Also along with your reviews, questions and answers within the community of course.. By doing this also helps you unlock badges. You unlock badges by doing these 3 major things. Heres a screenshot of what MY Influenster Impact score looks like:

Now, Lets talk about the actual voxbox once you recieve it!

When you receive your First voxbox it USUALLY is just only ONE item. So don’t be sad or freak out. Its a good thing! ATLEAST you even got one! Getting only ONE item is great! Think of it like Influenster is testing you to see if they can trust you with the bigger and better things coming your way in the future! My VERY First voxbox was aAveeno Tone Corrector! It was just one item and it was a full sized item also! I was so happy and excited I made sure I did all my tasks. I then received Caress travel-sized body wash! This month I recieved a HUGE box full of different things! Which was the#modavoxbox that I was talking about earlier.

So lets review:

  1. Join Influenster!
  2. Complete Profile (Pic, Bio, Info.)
  3. Complete Snaps (Unlock Badges Immediately.)
  4.  Write Reviews
  5. Ask Questions
  6. Answer Questions
  7. STAY ACTIVE!!!!

I hope this helped! Take care & stay tuned for more free stuff!

Scented Edible No-Cook Fingerpaint Recipe for Babies and Toddlers

paint

We all want our little ones to be artsy and creative. Well what better than to let them paint? Safe, edible paint for toddlers is great to make! You don’t have to worry about chemicals or toxins again!

I’d had the idea to have X play in yogurt since it’s so silky smooth – but then thought, hey, why not make it into paint?  I know a lot of bloggers use Kool Aid and for so long I’d resisted because I somehow thought it had sugar already in it?  I hate that sticky sugar feeling.  But I was totally wrong – Kool Aid powder has no added sugar!  And the smells – ohhhhh yum!!!
Because I did want to discourage X from tasting, and as I mentioned, I really dislike sticky sugar residue, I bought plain yogurt.  Most brands of plain yogurt are unsweetened altogether, and are quite tart.  Though edible, it was a great teaching paint since the flavor really was not one you’d like to taste more than once!  I used small cups to measure out about two big spoonfuls of yogurt and I added 1/2 to a whole packet of Kool Aid, depending on the color (I needed very little red and orange, for instance).
If your baby has a dairy allergy, or has not yet been introduced to dairy, you can use any kind of yogurt you’d like – rice, soy, coconut milk – they all work!  If you can’t find Kool Aid or don’t want something scented, just add a drop or two of food coloring and stir well.  You will still have beautiful edible fingerpaint!
For whatever reason our local Safeway didn’t have any green Kool Aid, so I mixed half a packet of the yellow Lemonade and the blue Blue Raspberry and made my own green!

Home Made Cinnamon Rolls The Kids Will Love!

rolls

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 quart Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 packages Active Dry Yeast, 0.25 Ounce Packets
  • 8 cups All-purpose Flour + 1 Cup
  • 1 teaspoon (heaping) Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon (scant) Baking Soda
  • 1 Tablespoon (heaping) Salt
  • Melted Butter
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 bag Powdered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Melted Butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Cinnamon Rolls are so easy to make, they just take a few steps, so give it a shot and don’t let them scare you!

Mix 1 quart Whole Milk, 1 cup butter, and 1 cup Sugar in a pan. Bring almost to a boil, just “scald” the milk. If you boil you went too far, it will curdle the milk.

Remove from the heat and let it cool until warm. Add 2 packages Active Dry Yeast, 0.25 Ounce Packets and mix in.

Now transfer to a bowl all the liquid, then add 8 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon (heaping) Baking Powder, 1 teaspoon (scant) Baking Soda, and 1 Tablespoon (heaping) Salt.

Cover with a tea towel and let rise for about an hour. After it has risen, turn out to a floured surface ( like above) and add about 1 more cup flour while kneading it all in.

Take about 1/2 of the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. I would say 18 inches by about 9 inches or so. Cover with a thin layer of melted butter, sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and then sprinkle with brown sugar.

Starting with the long side away from you, roll the dough up towards you. Fold the dough up and close the roll by pinching it together.

Now take the sharpest knife you have and cut the roll into 2 to 2 1/2 inch sections. Now place them in a greased pan almost touching each other. Let these rise about 20 minutes and put them into the oven at 400 for about 15 minutes.

Pull them out when they start to get golden brown, let them cool for just a few minutes, and pour frosting over the cinnamon rolls!

For the frosting, you might have to add more milk or even more powdered sugar to get the right consistency. You want it thick but pourable!

A Lesson of Life From A Child

Sometimes as moms, we are so busy with what’s going on, we hurry up our children. Hurrying to get them ready for school, ready to go to the store, ready for their doctors appointments. We are always hurrying. It is a difficult task to get a child ready on time along with yourself. We forget where the socks are, the little one is missing a left shoe and we are determined to find it before we are late to go anywhere. The kids continue to play as if they are unaware of the urgency. It can be frustrating.

The other day though, I was getting my little one ready (or at least trying too) without success. She had a round of shots to get that day. If we didn’t hurry up, we would be late and god knows if you’re late to an appointment, you’ll be there forever! I was frustrated. More than frustrated. Why couldn’t I do this seamlessly? I planned this out 2 hours before hand, getting everything ready so it would be an easy “get-up-and-go”. Well obviously it wasn’t. My little one wouldn’t cooperate. She just wanted to play with her toys and listen to her sing along disk. My temper was dwindling. I wanted to cry.

I sat in the floor, practically giving up. Then I started to watch my daughter play. She was laughing, smiling, playing with her teddy bear. She gave him kisses and carried him around. She danced with him. Suddenly I felt better. I smiled and was uplifted by her child-like innocence. She was enjoying life. She didn’t know the hassle of having to get somewhere in a hurry. All she knew was she woke up this morning, mommy fed her a yummy breakfast and she had her toys. Life was good. It made me realize as adults (and mommies) we get so tied up in life and hassles that sometimes we forget to step back and appreciate what we have and enjoy our lives. We have beautiful children. We have a roof over our heads. We have food. Some of us have partners that care about us.

I then stood up, hugged my little one and she giggled. I told her all we needed to do was find her shoe. I had calmed down and she knew it. She handed me her shoe and it was off to the doctor, with the company of Mr. Bear as a tag along. Although we were almost half an hour late, I didn’t fret. Yes, we had to be there longer than expected, but that was okay. I would still come home, make lunch, clean the house. I learned to relax and smile. Not worry. All thanks to my 1 year old daughter.
